An internet-facing asset has high-severity threats detected by SentinelOne. The combination of active threats and internet exposure creates multiplicative risk: external attackers can interact with the compromised asset, enabling command-and-control communication, lateral movement from the internet boundary, and direct data exfiltration. High-severity threats on internal-only assets are contained by network boundaries; on internet-facing assets, those boundaries do not exist.
